Training

At The Clinic, we offer a variety of trainings available to our clients, families, and our community partners.

Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®)

  • Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) is an attachment-based, trauma-informed intervention that is designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children.  TBRI® uses empowering principles to address physical needs, connecting principles to address attachment needs, and correcting principles to disarm fear-based behaviors. Classes focus on TBRI® three principles; Empowering, Connecting, and Correcting. Giving caregivers knowledgeable and tangible skills to meet the needs of those they care for.

  • Empowering Principle
    • The TBRI® Empowering Principle includes physiological and ecological strategies to meet physical needs.  This principle works to help caregivers learn to empower children by addressing nutrition, hydration, and sensory needs and also assess and alter a child’s environment to promote felt-safety and learning.
  • Connecting Principle
    • The TBRI® Connecting Principles include engagement and mindfulness strategies to meet attachment needs.  This principle works to help caregivers learn to create connections that disarm fear, gain trust, and enhance learning, all while developing the attachment relationship between caregiver and child.
  • Correcting Principle
    • The TBRI® Correcting Principle includes proactive and responsive strategies to shape beliefs and behaviors by disarming fear.  This principle works to help caregivers learn to teach positive behaviors proactively and respond to fear-based behaviors while maintaining connection.
